Corpo medioAlois Lageder's Sauvignon is the result of the interaction between grapes of different terroir, predominantly sandy and gravelly. This vine, which arrived in South Tyrol at the end of the nineteenth century, was cultivated for a long time almost exclusively in Terlano, near Bolzano, on sandy soils of volcanic origin, but in reality, it also develops excellent qualities on calcareous soils. Tenuta Lageder cultivates Sauvignon in Terlano, in fact, but also in Magrè, Cortaccia and Termeno, with altitudes ranging from 250 to 520 metres above sea level. The fermentation of the grapes takes place in steel at a controlled temperature, and again in steel the wine ages for about 4 months on the fine lees.
Alois Lageder's Sauvignon enters the glass with a bright straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose is expressed with elegance, moderating and modulating the varietal characters: a smoky aura envelops mint, lemon balm, boxwood and orange blossom, with references to mango, passion fruit and grapefruit. The mouth is fresh and savoury, with an excellent balance and an elongation on the fruit. Very good both with dishes based on vegetables and fish and with white meats; to give some examples: fresh tagliolini with artichokes and pink prawns or the classic and much-loved scallops with lemon.
