Etna Rosato di Girolamo Russo is produced from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes, in small quantities (about 5000 bottles per year), from a selection of the oldest, lowest vineyards of Feudo San Lorenzo. This Feudo consists of 12 hectares at the gates of Randazzo, nestled on the lower-mountain slopes of the volcano, between 700 and 800 meters, on not very ancient lava flows, which have formed young and porous soils, rich in sharp volcanic stones that guarantee excellent drainage. The grapes ferment spontaneously with a short maceration on the skins. The wine is then briefly aged in steel.
