Antinori's Bolgheri Rosato Scalabrone was obtained from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Merlot (30%) and Syrah (30%) grapes born from the vineyard called Scalabrone of the Guado al Tasso estate, within the prestigious range of Bolgheri. Here, the soils are of an alluvial matrix, of a clayey-sandy and clayey-silty character, and are located at an average altitude of 50 metres above sea level. The climate is naturally mild thanks to the extreme proximity of the sea and the mitigating action of its breezes. After the harvest, the grapes were vinified separately: a short maceration on the skins (3-5 hours) allowed the must to take on its characteristic pink colour and to enrich its aromatic profile. After alcoholic fermentation - which took place in stainless steel at a temperature of 16° C - the wine was blended and bottled after a brief refinement in steel.
The Bolgheri Rosato DOC Scalabrone by Antinori is presented in the glass with a delicate pale pink colour. On the nose, it releases fragrant aromas of cherry and small red fruits that intertwine with timid notes of aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is fresh and savoury, supported by a pleasant fruity taste that persists in the finish. Excellent as a wine for the whole meal, it goes well with cured meats and delicious seafood recipes - especially stewed - based on crustaceans and white fish.
