The Carricante Spumante di Planeta is born from 100% Carricante grapes grown in the territory of the Etna municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia, in the province of Catania. The vineyards come from soils characterized by volcanic sands, very rich in minerals, at an altitude of about 850 meters above sea level. The harvest was carried out early with a yield of about 88 quintals per hectare. According to the rules of the Metodo Classico, the second fermentation, useful for the sparkling process, took place in the bottle where the wine aged in contact with the yeasts for about 20 months before disgorgement.

CARRICANTE SPUMAMTE PLANETA: TASTING

The Metodo Classico Carricante Sparkling Wine presents itself with a straw yellow color with greenish reflections enlivened by a fine perlage. On the nose, it expresses aromas of tropical yellow fruit that meet hints of spring white flowers and notes of Mediterranean scrubland. Completing the olfactory profile are hints of bread crust and citrus. The palate is crisp and mineral, enhanced by a pleasant fruity and citrusy taste that lingers in the long finish. Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs well with vegetable fritto misto as well as delicious seafood recipes based on white fish, shellfish, and crustaceans.
