San Pio by Mastrojanni is produced from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Sangiovese grapes grown in the area of Castelnuovo Abate, a hamlet of Montalcino, in the province of Siena. The vineyards root here on soils with a tuffaceous and clay matrix or composed mainly of ancient limestone river pebbles, at an altitude between 120 and 450 meters above sea level. The aging took place for 18 months in French oak tonneaux and small barrels.

SAN PIO MASTROJANNI: TASTING NOTES

San Pio by Mastrojanni presents itself with a ruby red color with purple reflections. On the nose, it expresses aromas of cherry and ripe berries combined with vegetal hints and notes of black pepper, vanilla, and oriental spices. The taste is soft and balanced, supported by silky tannins and a long fruity and spicy finish. At the table, it pairs well with aged cheeses as well as rich land-based dishes featuring red meat.
