The Le Pergole Torte di Montevertine was obtained from 100% Sangiovese grapes carefully selected from a vineyard that covers 2.5 hectares in the area of Radda in Chianti, in the province of Siena. The average yield of the harvest was 40 hectoliters per hectare. During the red winemaking process, the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations took place in cement vats. The aging occurred for 12 months in barriques, for 12 months in oak barrels, plus an additional 3 months in the bottle.
The Le Pergole Torte di Montevertine presents itself with a ruby red color and bright reflections. On the nose, it releases scents of sour cherry and ripe red fruits intertwined with hints of rose and violet potpourri, and notes of dark oriental spices. Completing the aromatic profile, there are hints of balsamic herbs and fragrant notes. The taste is rich and elegant, enhanced by silky tannins and a long spicy finish. Ideal to pair with aged cheeses as well as opulent earthy recipes based on red meats or game.
