Corpo medioGrace di Arcari e Danesi is a rosé made from 85% Schiava, 5% Barbera, 5% Marzemino and 5% Sangiovese. It is a free interpretation of the historic Botticino appellation from Brescia (which now only has about thirty hectares cultivated): a red wine made from Barbera, Schiava Gentile, Marzemino (locally known as Berzemino), Sangiovese, and other black grape varieties suitable for cultivation in Lombardy. The name Grace di Arcari e DanesiGrace is inspired by the famous Grand Central Station in Manhattan, partly built with the marble from the town of Botticino. The vines, grown in the traditional Brescian pergola system, are located in Caionvico (the easternmost district of the city of Brescia), at the foot of Monte Maddalena, with over 70 years of age and roots reaching into a calcareous soil surmounted by clay. The grapes are processed separately, in steel tanks, with a short maceration period; after aging, the wine is blended and bottled.
Grace di Arcari e Danesi has an intense quartz pink color. On the nose, it is delicate and offers aromas of small red fruits, pomegranate, black pepper, sour flowers, and forest balsams, all wrapped in a rocky mineral cloak. In the mouth, it is refined yet with great crispness, mineral notes, and fruity freshness. It is very enjoyable paired with charcuterie of a certain aging or a light smoking, for example with traditional bresaola or with Salame di Varzi.
