Corpo medioContessa della Staffa Antica Enotria is a rosé made from a blend of 85% Nero di Troia and 15% Montepulciano. The estate where the grapes are grown is an agricultural paradise that stretches from the hinterland of Cerignola towards the sea. The soils are very rich in limestone, clay, and mineral salts. The climate is mild in winter and not excessively hot in summer thanks to the winds that blow in from the sea; these also guarantee the health of the vines. The estate stretches across 40 hectares of land, 12 of which are vineyards and the rest of which are made up of olive groves and produce; when harvested, these goods are then packaged in oil and sauces. The whole supply chain has always been strictly organic; in the early nineties Raffaele Di Tuccio was a pioneer of natural agriculture in Puglia. The two varietals macerate with the skins for 6 hours, then the must is cold-clarified and fermented at 16°C in steel silos. The refinement is short and takes place between steel and bottle.
Contessa della Staffa Antica Enotria has a beautiful cherry color with amber shades of onion skin. The nose offers splendid sensations of strawberry, cherry, watermelon, rose petals, with fresh brushstrokes of aromatic herbs. On the palate it impresses with its flavor, citrus acidity, and fruity softness. A wine with a dangerous drinkability and a great versatility, it is excellent pairing for lamb meatballs in a mint aubergine sauce, as well as with fried beef brains.
