Corpo medioThe Gewürztraminer Sanct Valentin di San Michele Appiano is obtained from 100% Gewürztraminer grapes grown in the territories of Cortaccia, Caldaro, and Appiano, in the province of Bolzano. The original vineyards include plants ranging from 5 to 35 years old, with a south-eastern exposure on gravelly and calcareous-clayey soils, at an altitude ranging from 300 to 500 meters above sea level. After manual harvesting, carried out between mid-September and early October, the grapes were sent for vinification, which included a maceration phase of the must in contact with the skins and subsequent soft pressing and fermentation in stainless steel. Before bottling, the Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC Sanct Valentin aged for 6 months in stainless steel on its own yeasts, enhancing its body, substances, and aromas.
The Gewürztraminer Sanct Valentin di San Michele Appiano presents itself with a straw yellow color with golden reflections. To the nose, it expresses enveloping aromas of lychee and tropical fruits intertwined with floral hints of rose and delicate notes of oriental spices. The palate is harmonious and pleasantly aromatic, supported by an elegant mineral freshness that lingers in the finish. Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs well with aged and blue cheeses as well as with vegetarian dishes and tasty seafood recipes based on white fish, mollusks, and crustaceans at the table.
