Aroma floreale
Corpo medioThe Friulano di Torre Rosazza is one of the emblematic wines of the company. Produced starting from the 1984 vintage, it takes shape on the terraced hills of Manzano, at an altitude of 130-170 meters. The "Ponca" is the typical element of the soil: a sedimentary formation consisting entirely of clayey marl alternating with layers of sandstone. Ventilation is good thanks to the bora and winds coming from the Adriatic Sea, which contributes to the healthiness of the vineyards; furthermore, the significant temperature range between day and night enhances the development of aromas. The grapes of Friulano di Torre RosazzaFriulano, once destemmed, undergo cold maceration and are then gently pressed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks, at a constant temperature of 16°C; the wine then rests on the lees for about four months, and after bottling it ages in glass for at least another two months.
The Friulano di Torre RosazzaFriulano of the Colli Orientali del Friuli from Torre Rosazza appears bright yellow. On the nose, it smells of wildflowers, jasmine, pear, and apple, with youthful aromas enriched by mineral-balsamic hints and spicy notes of incense and saffron. The sip is broad, savory, with citrusy freshness and a pleasantly bitter finish. A refreshing wine that pairs perfectly with San Daniele ham aged 13 months (its less mature version), as well as with Frico, and even with oven-baked sea bass with asparagus.
