The Frascati Terre dei Grifi di Fontana Candida was obtained from a blend of Malvasia di Candia (50%), Trebbiano Toscano (30%), Malvasia del Lazio (10%) and Greco (10%) grapes grown on volcanic soils in the Monteporzio Catone area (RM). A wine with a straightforward and decisive character, aged in steel for a few months. A young and agile drink that fully embodies the winemaking tradition of the Frascati area that Fontana Candida has been enhancing for more than fifty years. The name Terre dei Grifi derives from that of the ancient de'Grifi family who, starting from the 11th century, owned the land where the company stands today.

FRASCATI TERRE DEI GRIFI FONTANA CANDIDA: TASTING

The Frascati DOC Terre dei Grifi by Fontana Candida has an intense straw yellow colour with greenish reflections in the glass. On the nose, it expresses hints of white peach and ripe yellow pulp fruit combined with notes of Mediterranean citrus and aromatic herbs. Full-bodied, on the palate, it reveals a fresh and decisive minerality that persists in the pleasant finish of white almond. Excellent as a wine for the whole meal, at the table it goes well with fresh and semi-aged cheeses, vegetable-based dishes as well as simple seafood recipes.
