The Chardonnay of Villa Russiz was with 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in the territory of Capriva del Friuli, in the province of Gorizia, from vineyards mainly exposed to the south and located on marly soils. After the manual harvest, the grapes were transported to the cellar where they were subjected, whole, to soft pressing. After a first racking, the free run must thus obtained is fermented at a controlled temperature. Before bottling, Villa Russiz's Chardonnay Collio DOC 2020 was aged for 8 months on the fine lees (fermentation residues), enriching itself in terms of substances, body and aromas.

CHARDONNAY VILLA RUSSIZ: TASTING

The Chardonnay of Villa Russiz has a straw yellow colour in the glass. On the nose, reveals aromas of apple and yellow pulp fruit that intertwine with delicate hints of white flowers and delicate notes of bread crust. The sip is fresh and vibrant, enhanced by a strong minerality that persists in the finish. Ideal as an aperitif, at the table, it goes well with fresh and semi-aged cheeses as well as vegetarian dishes and seafood recipes based on white fish, molluscs and crustaceans.
