Federici's Cesanese del Piglio DOCG Sapiens is born from 100% Cesanese grapes grown on clayey soils in the area of Anagni and Paliano (FR), at an average altitude of 450 metres above sea level. The processes of alcoholic fermentation and maceration on the skins are followed by a refinement of 4 months in steel. An organic red with a proud and decisive character, the result of a corporate style based on a wise balance between tradition and innovation. The Cesanese del Piglio DOCG was established in 2011 and includes, in addition to Anagni and Paliano, also the municipalities of Piglio, Acuto and Serrone, all in the province of Frosinone. The territory is characterised by the presence of superficial “red earth”, naturally rich in iron and aluminium oxides, not very suitable for intensive use and which are well suited to quality viticulture.

Federici's Cesanese del Piglio DOCG Sapiens is presented in the glass of an intense ruby red colour with garnet reflections. On the nose, it releases aromas of ripe red fruit combined with hints of cloves and dark spices and docile notes of undergrowth. On the palate, it is soft and warm, supported by an excellent structure and a dense tannic texture with a finish played on fruity notes. At the table, it goes well with cured meats and aged cheeses and succulent land dishes based on red meats.
