Corpo robustoThe Campo delle Oche of Fattoria San Lorenzo has for years been one of the most fascinating expressions of Verdicchio. It was born in Montecarotto, in the province of Ancona, within the production area of the Castelli di Jesi; the Le Oche plot, at almost 400 metres above sea level, faces south-west and has its roots in a sandy-clayey soil. Natalino Crognaletti takes care of the vineyards like the generations of family winemakers who preceded him, with sensitivity and no recourse to chemistry. Alcoholic fermentation is spontaneous with a maceration of 20 days and, after malolactic fermentation, the refinement is divided into 3 phases from the times that vary from vintage to vintage: cement and steel (on the yeasts), then bottle, up to over 36 months in total.
The Verdicchio Campo delle Oche by Fattoria San Lorenzo is a beautiful golden straw yellow. On the nose, it is powerful: it opens on gunpowder and notes of smoke, to then become more gentle with references to sweet spices, incense, rose flowers, orange blossom and lavender, lime peel and finally rosemary. The mouth is power and balance, verticality and horizontality, flavour, freshness, balsams and length, very good. Really wonderful with roast goose in the Marche style!
