Designed for collectors and fine wine enthusiasts, this 3-bottle selection offers a rare opportunity to explore the evolution of a remarkable red wine over time.
La Bogliona is produced from Barbera grapes grown in the Acqui Terme area, from carefully selected hillside vineyards. Scarpa's traditional winemaking approach enhances structure, freshness and longevity, while extended ageing in oak and bottle gives the wine depth, harmony and aromatic complexity.
The 1996, 1998 and 2006 vintages create a fascinating tasting journey: three different harvests, three stages of evolution and three interpretations of the same prestigious label. In the glass, the wine reveals mature red and dark fruit, spice, forest floor, leather, balsamic hints and a persistent palate supported by Barbera's naturally vibrant freshness.
An excellent match for rich Piedmontese dishes, braised meats, roasts, game, agnolotti with roast sauce, mixed boiled meats, osso buco and aged cheeses. As these are long-aged bottles, we recommend standing them upright before serving, opening them carefully and taking into account the possible presence of natural sediment.
