Francia 2024 is made from 100% Barbera grown in the Francia vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba, one of Giacomo Conterno's defining sites. The vines grow on limestone marl threaded with sandstone and face west-southwest, a setting that gives Barbera depth and tension.

A Barbera built for structure and longevity

Winemaking follows the estate's traditional approach, with fermentation in wooden vats followed by maturation in large oak casks. The result is an intense, juicy and focused red, driven by Barbera's natural acidity and a deep yet balanced structure.

The 2024 profile

Blackberry, cherry and plum are joined by floral, mineral, balsamic and spicy nuances. The palate is full and persistent, with vibrant freshness and a long finish. Wine Advocate awarded the 2024 vintage 94/100.

At the table

Serve at 16-18 °C. It pairs well with red meats, roasts, game and mature cheeses. The wine is offered on pre-order with availability expected toward the end of 2026.
