Corpo medioThe Barbera d'Alba by Prunotto was made from 100% Barbera grapes grown on mixed sandy and clay soils in the areas of Barbaresco, Treiso, Alba and Barolo, in the province of Cuneo. After harvesting, crushing and destemming, the grapes underwent maceration for 5-7 days at a temperature of 28/30°C. Once fermentation was complete, the wines rested for a few months, with a short passage in wood, before being blended in spring 2018 and bottled. Barbera, in its basic expression, has been appreciated for centuries by Piedmontese consumers as an everyday table wine.
Prunotto's Barbera d'Alba DOC appears in the glass with an intense ruby-red colour and purple reflections. On the nose, aromas of ripe red fruit emerge, combined with delicate notes of sweet spices. On the palate, the fruit returns alongside lively yet unobtrusive tannins and vibrant freshness that invites another sip. Excellent as an all-meal wine, it pairs well with cured meats and semi-aged cheeses, as well as first and main courses based on red meats.
