The Redigaffi Vertical Bundle 2004, 2005 and 2006 by Tua Rita brings together three consecutive vintages of one of Italy’s most renowned Merlot wines, produced in Val di Cornia from 100% hand-harvested Merlot grapes. This vertical bundle offers the opportunity to explore the evolution over time of a great Tuscan red, comparing three mature expressions of a deep, powerful and refined wine. The vineyards are rooted in strongly clayey soils and feature a very high planting density of around 8,500 vines per hectare. After meticulous selection of the bunches in 15 kg crates, vinification includes a long maceration on the skins lasting around 3 weeks, followed by aging for 18-20 months in new barriques and further bottle refinement before release.

The Redigaffi Vertical Bundle 2004, 2005 and 2006 by Tua Rita offers a tasting experience designed to reveal the nuances that time brings to a great Merlot. On the nose, it shows complex aromas of dried flowers, red fruit jam, saline and mineral notes, touches of wood, smoky nuances, vanilla, cinnamon, tobacco and coffee, with final hints of mint and liquorice. On the palate, it is deep and powerful, yet also fresh, savory and elegant, supported by silky tannins, a sinuous body and a long, rounded persistence. Best served at a temperature between 16 °C and 20 °C, it pairs beautifully with braised meats, important red meat dishes and rich slow-cooked preparations.
