Le Difese 2024 is made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese selected from Tenuta San Guido's younger vines. It is the estate's most immediate and convivial expression: a Tuscan red combining fruit, freshness and structure while retaining the house's characteristic precision.

The most approachable side of Tenuta San Guido

The grapes come from the Bolgheri area, including the Vecchio Frantoio zone, on soils with a strong limestone component, Alberese and Gabbro, stones and pebbles, with partly clayey sections. In the glass it is ruby red, with intense and complex aromas led by red fruit. The palate is fresh, pleasant, flowing and elegant.

Stainless steel, oak and bottle ageing

Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel. After vinification, the wine rests in oak barrels, mainly second- and third-use French oak previously used for Guidalberto; it is then transferred to stainless steel at low temperature for tartaric stabilisation before further bottle ageing prior to release.

The 2024 vintage received 92/100 from James Suckling and 92/100 from Decanter. It pairs well with red meats, fine poultry and mature cheeses.
