The Valpolicella Ripasso di Costa Arente is a red wine made with Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes, with the addition of other complementary red berry varieties. The vineyards are located in Valpantena on clayey soils rich in minerals, mainly at an altitude between 100 and 250 meters above sea level. During the winemaking process, a portion of the must was macerated on the Amarone grape skins, following the ripasso technique, for 10-14 days. The aging took place for 18 months in French oak barriques and an additional 6 months in the bottle.
The extrapolated Valpolicella Ripasso di Costa Arente Superiore di Costa Arente appears in the glass with an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it boasts aromas of cherry and red fruits in jam, meeting scents of rose and violet with hints of dark spices. The taste is intense, smooth, and with good freshness. The enveloping and well-integrated tannins. The finish is persistent with notes of fruit, spices, and coffee powder. It pairs excellently with rich earthy dishes featuring red meats or game.
