Aroma aromatico
Corpo medioGewürztraminer is celebrated for its distinctive fragrance, but the 2025 release from Cantina Valle Isarco also has a clear sense of place. Grown on sunlit terraces in the Italian Alps, the grapes reflect the altitude and varied soils of the Eisack Valley. This Alto Adige Valle Isarco DOC white combines expressive aromatics with a full, well-defined palate, making it a compelling choice for lovers of characterful white wines.
The Gewürztraminer vines grow between 400 and 750 metres above sea level on gravelly, stony alluvial soils containing diorite and quartz phyllite. The sunny exposures allow the variety to develop its unmistakable aromatic signature. Based in Chiusa, Cantina Valle Isarco is closely associated with this northern Alto Adige wine-growing area, renowned for its mountain whites.
The grapes undergo gentle handling and pressing, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine then matures on its fine lees in stainless-steel tanks, without malolactic fermentation. This approach keeps the varietal perfume in focus and gives the wine definition without adding oak flavours.
The colour is yellow with greenish highlights. The nose is unmistakably aromatic, with an elegant combination of rose petals and delicate spices. On the palate, the wine is full, expressive and notably structured. Its appeal lies in the way a recognisable floral-spicy profile is supported by satisfying weight.
Enjoy this Gewürztraminer with fragrant Asian dishes, shellfish or richly flavoured cheeses, where its pronounced aroma can stand alongside bold ingredients. Serve at approximately 10–12°C to appreciate its floral detail and mouthfeel. The 750 ml bottle is a versatile choice for a dinner built around aromatic food pairings.
