Tané di Valle dell'Acate is one of the labels of the interesting project "7 Lands for 7 Wines". Valle dell’Acate has always been committed to environmental conservation: it experiments with production processes based on sustainability principles, uses irrigation systems that maximize water efficiency by avoiding waste, and works to requalify the surrounding territory. With the project "7 lands for 7 wines", it has associated 7 native grape varieties with 7 different types of soil present on the property, matching each grape with the most suitable soil, in search of a high and characteristic expression of the territory. Tané di Valle dell'Acate is extrapolated, which in dialect is the diminutive of Gaetana, is a single-variety Nero d'Avola produced only in the best vintages. It comes from a small vineyard with extremely limited productivity, about 800g of grapes per plant; the soil is ochre in color, with a chalky structure and a good amount of sand that makes the soil loose and light. The grapes harvested in October are vinified in steel, then the wine ages for 10-12 months in new French oak barriques, and further in the bottle for at least another 12-14 months.
Tané di Valle dell'Acate is intense garnet in color. On the nose, it combines intense and tasty blackberry and plum fruit with hints of vanilla, cloves, and nutmeg, as well as eucalyptus and menthol balms, along with notes of chocolate. The palate is broad, warm, with elegant tannins and a slightly bitter finish. Excellent with stewed wild boar.
