The Taurasi Radici by Mastroberardino is a red wine made from 100% Aglianico grapes cultivated in the Montemarano area (AV). The vineyards here, facing southeast, are located on clay-limestone soils rich in skeleton, at an altitude of about 550 meters above sea level. The manual harvest took place in the first decade of November, with an extremely low yield of 45 quintals per hectare. Red vinification included a must maceration phase on the skins for 25 days at a controlled temperature of 22-24°C. Aging lasted 30 months in French oak barriques and Slavonian oak barrels, followed by an additional 40 months in the bottle.

TAURASI RADICI MASTROBERARDINO: TASTING NOTES

The Taurasi Radici by Mastroberardino reveals an intense ruby red color with bright reflections. On the nose, it opens with aromas of cherry and ripe berries, followed by hints of violet potpourri and notes of balsamic herbs, tobacco, and dark spices. The palate is rich and intense, enhanced by structured and silky tannins, with a long finish of plum and licorice root. It pairs excellently with aged cheeses as well as flavorful land-based dishes, particularly those featuring red meats or game.
