Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioThe Sauvignon Winkl by Terlan is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Winkl is the name of the vineyard, or cru, from which the grapes come, one of the oldest in the Terlano area, in the province of Bolzano. It has a south and south-west exposure and is rooted in sandy soils with pebbles, at an altitude between 280 and 580 meters above sea level. After manual harvesting, the grapes were sent to vinification, which included alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Aging took place for 5-7 months, partly in stainless steel (80%) and partly in large wooden barrels (20%), in contact with the fermentation lees, thereby enriching the wine in terms of body, aromas and substance.
The Sauvignon Winkl by Terlan appears in the glass with a straw-yellow color and greenish highlights. On the nose, it expresses aromas of apricot and yellow-fleshed fruit, intertwined with hints of white flowers and subtle notes of gooseberry and mint. The palate is fresh and pleasantly fruity, supported by a clear and persistent minerality. At the table, it pairs well with fresh and semi-aged cheeses, as well as with vegetarian dishes and flavorful seafood recipes based on shellfish and white fish.
