The Pinot Nero Dagala del Barone di Castello di Solicchiata is born from 100% Pinot Noir grapes cultivated on the south-western slopes of Mount Etna. The vineyard, trained in bush vines, is arranged in terraces on volcanic soils resulting from Etna's lava flows. The estimated altitude ranges between 1000 and 1200 meters above sea level. After manual harvesting, the clusters were transported to the cellar for red vinification carried out entirely in oak truncated cone vats. The aging took place for 24 months in French oak barrels from Alliers and Troncais forests and a further 36 months in the bottle.
PINOT NERO DAGALA DEL BARONE CASTELLO SOLICCHIATA: TASTING
The Pinot Nero Dagala del Barone di Castello di Solicchiata presents itself in the glass with a ruby red color and garnet reflections. On the nose, it flaunts aromas of ripe berries combined with hints of withered violet and flint stone, as well as notes of balsamic herbs and dark spices. The palate is intense and well-balanced, supported by an elegant tannic structure and a persistent fruity and spicy taste. It pairs well with aged cheeses and dishes based on red meats and/or game.Product specifications
