Vigna Arione 2023 is made from 100% Nebbiolo grown in the Arione vineyard, including plantings established after Giacomo Conterno acquired the parcel and a small section located just outside the Barolo DOCG boundary. This position determines the Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC designation while preserving the site's distinctive intensity.

Arione beyond the Barolo boundary

Winemaking follows the estate's traditional approach, with fermentation in wooden vats followed by around 30 months in large oak casks. The method keeps the wood in the background and places the identity of Nebbiolo and the vineyard at the centre.

The 2023 profile

Dried flowers, red berries, liquorice and menthol emerge alongside a clear mineral note. The palate is full yet driven by freshness, with good tension and precise structure. Wine Advocate awarded the 2023 vintage 94/100.

At the table

Serve at 16-18 °C. It pairs well with roasted or grilled meats and mature cheeses. The wine is offered on pre-order.
