Nagdi Marani Tsarapi Rkatsiteli Qvevri 2016 is a dry amber wine from Kakheti, combining a historic Georgian white grape with an exceptionally long maturation: three years in qvevri. This extended time in clay vessels makes it a distinctive expression of Georgian Orange Wine.

Tsarapi: a distinctive part of Kakheti

The Rkatsiteli grapes come from the Tsarapi area of eastern Kakheti, from vineyards at 350–550 metres above sea level. Soils are predominantly shallow, clayey and stony, with carbonate material. The bunches are selected in the vineyard and harvested by hand.

Three years of qvevri ageing

Fermentation takes place in traditional qvevri. The wine then spends three years ageing in the same type of earthenware vessel, a much longer maturation than many other Rkatsiteli expressions. Clay vessels accompany the wine throughout its cellar journey.

An Orange Wine shaped by time

A compelling bottle for exploring Georgian Orange Wine through a mature vintage and prolonged qvevri ageing. It has 12% ABV, comes in a 750 ml bottle and is made without added sulphites, although naturally occurring sulphites are present.
