The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva Colline Teramane Iskra is one of the 7 labels born from the private and professional bond between Gianni Masciarelli and Marina Cvetic, characterised by pure international and indigenous grape varieties; Iskra is produced since 2003. We are in Controguerra, in the province of Teramo, at an altitude of 250 metres, in the Aprutinian hills between the Gran Sasso and the sea. The harvest takes place in mid-October; the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, the wine then ages in 225-litre oak barrels for 12 months, and ages in the bottle for another 24.

The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva Iskra 2017 by Marina Cvetic is presented in the glass with a deep ruby with blue-violet reflections. On the nose, it is very intense, with notes ranging from red fruit in jam, blackberry and raspberry first, juniper and rhubarb balms and a ripe leather spice. On the palate, it is impressive, with a softness of taste and alcohol that embraces the important tannic texture. Perfect with sheep alla cottora, an ancient recipe from the Abruzzo mountains.
