Berlucchi's Franciacorta Brut '61 Rosé is produced for 60% from Pinot Nero grapes and 40% from Chardonnay grapes from selected vineyards of Franciacorta. The vinification process involves maceration on the skins for a few hours of the Pinot Noir, a practice that gives the wine the colours and aromas of this noble grape. The first fermentation takes place in steel vats, the second instead takes place in the bottle for at least 24 months on the lees. After disgorgement (action with which the residues of refermentation are eliminated), the wine rests for another 2 months before being marketed.
Franciacorta DOCG Brut '61 Rosé - Berlucchi stands out in the glass with its intense pink colour embellished by a fine perlage. On the nose, it releases intriguing aromas of wild berries and ripe red fruit combined with delicate hints of vinous and bread crust. On the palate, it conquers for its elegance, revealing a marked but perfectly integrated acidity thanks to the good dosage of sugars (8 grams per litre) and a pleasant savoury trail that persists in the long and fascinating finish. Perfect as an aperitif, it goes well with cured meats and medium-aged cheeses and seafood first and second courses, especially if based on shellfish.
