Corpo medioThe Etna Rosso 'A Rina di Girolamo Russo is produced from 94% Nerello Mascalese and 6% Nerello Cappuccio grapes. The vineyards where the grapes come from are three: San Lorenzo, 12 hectares at the doors of Randazzo, nestled on the low-mountain slopes of the volcano, between 700 and 800 meters on not very ancient lava flows, which have formed young and porous soils, rich in sharp volcanic stones that ensure excellent drainage; Feudo, 6 hectares, whose soil was already found deep and generous by the ancient Greeks (those who inhabited the settlement from which the current city of Randazzo would be born), planting vines there, is characterized by a microclimate influenced by winds blowing from Valdemone; Calderara Sottana, between 600 and 700 meters in altitude, with a soil covered with light pumice and basalt stones that retain daytime heat and release it at night. The wine is aged for about a year in a combination of barriques and tonneaux.
The Etna Rosso 'A Rina di Girolamo Russo pours into the glass with a beautiful bright ruby red color; on the nose, it presents red fruit alongside notes of leather, tobacco, and menthol balms. On the palate, it is elegant, savory, with good acidity and tannins. Fun to taste with smoked spaghetti with clams, pistachio, and bottarga.
