Biondi Santi 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is pure elegance, as indeed every Brunello Riserva from Tenuta il Greppo. 2013 was a fresh vintage where the proverbial acidity of Sangiovese gave its best and for this reason the Reserves will have a long life. The grapes come from vines over 25 years of age. We are 3 km southeast of Montalcino, along the road to the Abbey of Sant'Antimo. Riserva Bondi Santi ages for 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels. The fundamental characteristic of Brunello Biondi Santi Riserva is longevity; in our opinion, 2013 can age even beyond 40 years. The company, whose owners have gained great confidence with the bottles over the years, suggests uncorking and filling the bottles a little about 8 hours before tasting.

Biondi Santi's Brunello Reserve is presented in the glass with a bright ruby colour. The aromas are rich, broad and elegant: dried flowers, candied orange, hints of small red fruits and then herbs and ethereal hints such as sage, mint and tobacco to finish. The taste is austere, rich, very long, tannins and acidity blend perfectly to give us a sip of history.
