Corpo medioThe Bellone Collesanti di Marco Carpineti originates from a small vineyard within the original company estate. Currently, the property extends for about 53 hectares, with 41 hectares cultivated as vineyards and the rest as olive groves. The ongoing challenge, coupled with the conversion to organic farming that took place in 1994, focuses on some virtually forgotten grape varieties that only this land has preserved like a hidden treasure. White grape varieties include Bellone, Arciprete Bianco (a biotype of Bellone), and two varieties of Greco grapes, locally known as Moro and Giallo, which are almost extinct in the area; red grape varieties include Nero buono di Cori, Montepulciano, and Cesanese. The vineyards with a southwest exposure are located in Capolemole, Pezze di Ninfa, and Valli San Pietro; the volcanic-origin soil, particularly suitable for vineyards and olive cultivation, is rich in skeleton, especially tuff, and in the highest part also has a limestone component. Bellone grapes are gently pressed as whole berries and spontaneously ferment at a controlled temperature; aging takes place exclusively in steel.
The Bellone Collesanti di Marco Carpineti appears bright straw yellow; on the nose, it offers lemon zest, apple, white flowers, aromatic herbs, and dried fruit. On the palate, it is intense, fresh, and savory, with a slightly bitter citrusy finish. So delicious with fried cod!
