Aroma fruttato
Corpo robustoPalladino's Barolo Serralunga d'Alba 2014 is produced with Nebbiolo grapes, sub-varieties Lampia and Michet, coming from several vineyards, with different exposures, on mostly clayey-clay soils, all in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba: San Bernardo, Ornato, Parafada, Serra and Gabutti. The vinification takes place in steel and the ageing is traditionally done in large oak barrels for 24 months. In the disciplinary of Barolo, the minimum ageing of 38 months (62 for Barolo Riserva) is foreseen before being placed on the market, of which at least 18 in wood.
Palladino's Barolo Serralunga d'Alba 2014 is presented in the glass with a ruby red colour with garnet hues; on the nose, it is very typical, with notes of dried roses and violets, cherry and raspberry, woody balsams and hints of tobacco. In the mouth, it is powerful, fresh, with very present but ripe tannins. Very good with a gorgonzola risotto, porcini mushrooms and nepitella, or with traditional Piedmontese structured cold cuts such as liver mortadella or Meiron'd crava (goat in smoked brine).
