The Barolo Brunate DOCG 2020 by Vietti is an extraordinary example of Piedmontese viticulture, originating from one of the most prestigious crus in the Langhe. The 100% Nebbiolo grapes used for this wine are grown in the Brunate vineyards located between the municipalities of La Morra and Barolo, characterized by calcareous-clay soil and a southwest exposure that favors optimal grape ripening. The unique climate of this area, with hot summers and cold winters, helps create a wine of great structure and complexity. Harvesting is done manually, carefully selecting the best clusters. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with maceration lasting 3-4 weeks. Subsequently, the wine ages in oak barrels for about 30 months, further developing its aromatic and structural complexity.
The Barolo Brunate DOCG 2020 presents itself with an intense garnet red color. On the nose, the wine reveals a complex and enveloping bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits, cherries, and plums, followed by hints of rose, tobacco, sweet spices, and a touch of dark chocolate. On the palate, the Brunate 2020 is powerful and refined, with silky and well-integrated tannins that provide a solid structure. The wine's freshness perfectly balances its richness, while the long finish is characterized by a return of fruity and spicy notes, with hints of licorice and menthol. This Barolo has great aging potential, evolving beautifully over the years. At the table, it pairs magnificently with roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses, enhancing each course with its elegance and complexity.
