Corpo robustoThe Barbaresco di Ceretto is produced at Tenuta Monsordo Bernardina, the ancient farmhouse on the outskirts of Alba, now for years the epicenter of the Ceretto family's work, and since 2009 made even more recognizable with the installation of the Acino by the Piedmontese architects Luca and Marina Deabate, a bubble suspended over the landscape of Langa. The more than 30 hectares of vineyards surrounding the farmhouse host traditional and international varieties, all cultivated according to strong principles of environmental sustainability. Following the most classic tradition, this Barbaresco di CerettoBarbaresco is the result of blending grapes from different parcels, coming from some of the beautiful company vineyards, totaling 4.84 hectares. The fermentation takes place slowly, with long maceration on the skins; the wine then matures for 24 months in oak tonneaux and large barrels (the disciplinary regulations of the Barbaresco di CerettoBarbaresco provide for aging of at least two years, nine months of which are in oak wood) and then further rests in the bottle.
The Barbaresco di Ceretto is transparent garnet. The bouquet consists of dried flowers, primarily roses and violets, medicinal herbs, menthol balms, raspberry jelly, cloves, pepper, and undergrowth. The palate is elegant, with silky tannins, floral freshness, and a savory flesh. A perfect pairing is roasted sambucano lamb.
