The 760m Etna Rosso DOC 2022 by Azienda Agricola SCIARA is a red wine from Etna, Sicily, made from 100% Nerello Mascalese. It comes from vines ranging from 12-13 to 65 years of age, with an average vine age of around 45 years, grown between 720 and 770 metres above sea level in the contrade of Sciara Nuova and Taccione, on soils of volcanic rock and sand. The vineyard is farmed under certified organic practices.

Vinification is carried out with spontaneous fermentations and indigenous yeasts, following a low-intervention approach. The wine is then aged for nineteen months in oak barrels of various sizes and glass containers, allowing it to evolve while preserving its precision and territorial identity. The wine is unfined and unfiltered, has low sulphite levels of around 26 mg/L, is suitable for vegans and vegetarians, and is produced in a total of 4170 bottles. Alcohol content is 13.3%, with residual sugar below 1 g/L.

The 760m Etna Rosso DOC 2022 stands out for its enveloping aromatic intensity, with notes of stones and dried berries shaped by a distinct basalt-like character. The bouquet is completed by hints of cherry and roasted chestnut. On the palate, the wine is well-structured and rich in substance; a gentle warming sensation carries flavours of figs and dark fruits, alongside saline notes and a woody finish. The wine shows at its best at least half an hour after opening. At the table, it pairs beautifully with grilled meat, ossobuco, and roast pigeon; with further evolution, it can also work well with raw fish.
