Corpo robustoVillamagna Riserva di Palazzo Battaglini is a red wine made from 100% Montepulciano grapes grown in the Villamagna area in the province of Chieti. The reference vineyards, cultivated in the Abruzzo pergola style, are rooted in clay-limestone soils at an altitude of 255 meters above sea level. Manual harvesting took place after a short withering in the vineyard at the beginning of November, with a yield of approximately 90 quintals per hectare. During the red vinification, the maceration of the must in contact with the skins lasted for 20 days. The aging process involved 12 months in cement tanks and a further 18 months in barriques. For its wines, Palazzo Battaglini uses Dring, the innovative bottle with an incorporated drip saver. It is a patented device that allows pouring the wine without a single drop falling from the bottle. No more wine stains on the tablecloth.
Villamagna Riserva di Palazzo Battaglini appears in the glass with an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses aromas of ripe small red fruits combined with notes of rose and violet, and hints of aromatic herbs. Completing the olfactory profile are hints of chocolate, licorice, and dark spices. The taste is intense and structured, supported by strong tannins and a lingering fruity and spicy finish. It pairs well with aged cheeses and succulent land dishes, especially those based on red meats.
