Corpo medioThe Vernaccia Nera Serrapetrona Brecce Rosse di Colleluce is obtained from Vernaccia Nera (82%) and Merlot (8%) grapes grown in the Colleluce area, a hamlet of San Severino Marche (MC). The vineyards, facing Southeast, are rooted in gravelly-brecciated soils, at an altitude of about 500 meters above sea level. Before being vinified, the Vernaccia Nera was left to dry in wooden crates for 2 months, while the fresh grape must of Merlot was used. The aging process took place for 10-11 months in barriques and for a further 6 months in the bottle.
The Vernaccia Nera Serrapetrona Brecce Rosse di Colleluce presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it expresses scents of cherry and ripe red fruit combined with subtle hints of dark spices. On the palate, it is soft and harmonious, enhanced by velvety tannins and a pleasant fresh-savory trail that lingers in the finish. It pairs well with aged cheeses as well as tasty land-based recipes with red meats or game.
