Corpo medioBucci Verdicchio Riserva dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore has been one of the most important wines of this appellation for a long time now. The Bucci family is closely tied to their land: the estate, spread over 350 hectares, cultivates a diverse range of agricultural products including durum and soft wheat, corn, sugar beets, peas, seed crops, sunflowers, oil, and wine. The limestone soils, the varying exposures of the vineyards, an attention to detail in every section of the vineyard, and the use of large eighty-year-old barrels for fermenting the wine: all of these elements come together to create the perfect representation of Verdicchio. Verdicchio Riserva is vinified with the grapes of the oldest plants, between 40 and 50 years old. It is fermented in steel tanks and refined in 50 and 70hL Slavonian oak barrels for a year and a half, followed by a further year in the bottle before being placed on the market.
Bucci Verdicchio Riserva dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore has a bright straw yellow color. The nose is intense and broad: fresh almond, hazelnut, acacia and orange flowers, pineapple, aromatic herbs, spices and flint. In the mouth it has great body, nice acidity, and salty, fruity persistence. To be paired almost like a red and served cool, but not cold. Lovely with guinea fowl breast wrapped in thin slices of salt pork.
