Corpo medioArpepe's Inferno Riserva Sesto Canto was born with this 2009 harvest. In the Sixth Canto of Dante's Inferno, the pains inflicted on gluttony sinners are narrated; we are in the third circle, just as this vineyard, at 450 metres above sea level, is located on the third bend of the road called “Circuito dell'Inferno”. "Circuit that saw Arturo as protagonist in numerous editions of the Valtellina Rally Cup, his other great passion, which led him to dream of a Riserva di Inferno that celebrated the power, the roar, the atonal roar of a harsh land that leaves you speechless." This is how the family passionately describes the genesis of this new label. The harvest took place on 18 October. Fermentation and maceration in 50 hl wooden vats lasted 49 days. The wine then matured for 5 years in vats of the same capacity, steel and bottle.
The Inferno Riserva Sesto Canto has a clear and consistent garnet red. On the nose, it is intense in all the typical components of Chiavennasca, from rose and violet passite, to distant citrus fruits, fresh balsams, rocky minerality, peppers and traces of coffee. In the mouth it is powerful, tannic but balanced, long and tasty. To be tasted alone and then served with polenta taragna with mushrooms.
