The Taurasi Radici di Mastroberardino is a 100% Aglianico-based red wine cultivated in the area of Montemarano (AV). The vineyards here, facing Southeast, are located on clay-limestone soils with a high presence of skeleton, at an altitude of about 550 meters above sea level. The manual harvest took place during the first decade of November, with a very low yield of 45 quintals per hectare. The red vinification process included a 25-day maceration phase of the must on the skins at a controlled temperature of 22-24°C. The aging process was 30 months in French oak barriques and Slavonian oak casks, plus an additional 40 months in the bottle.

TAURASI RADICI MASTROBERARDINO: TASTING NOTES

The Taurasi Radici di Mastroberardino presents itself with an intense ruby red color and brilliant reflections. On the nose, it opens with scents of cherry and ripe berries followed by hints of violet potpourri and notes of balsamic herbs, tobacco, and dark spices. The taste is rich and intense, enhanced by structured and silky tannins and a long finish of plum and licorice root. It pairs excellently with aged cheeses as well as flavorful meat dishes, especially those based on red meats or game.
