The Rosso di Montalcino di Canalicchio di Sopra is produced from 100% Sangiovese grapes mainly sourced from the youngest vineyards of the Canalicchio di Sopra cru. The soils here are clayey, particularly rich in magnesium, iron, and manganese, at an altitude of around 300 meters above sea level. The winemaking process took place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature with a 20-day maceration of the must on the skins. Aging was carried out for 12 months in 50-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels and 750-liter French oak barrels.

On the nose, it reveals aromas of small red berries, violets, wet earth, mingling with hints of aromatic herbs and oriental spices. The palate is intense and balanced, supported by well-integrated tannins and a long, enveloping finish that is fresh and mineral. It pairs perfectly with aged cheeses as well as flavorful meat-based dishes featuring red meats or game.
