The Riesling Campo Dottore di Calatroni comes from the vineyard adjacent to the company, called the “campo del dottore” because around the middle of the twentieth century the owner was the town doctor. The wine is produced from a selection of only Rhine Riesling grapes grown at an altitude of about 280 metres above sea level and vinified in steel, where it then ages for 5 months with frequent bâtonnage. It is bottled towards the end of spring and released on the market after about 40 days. The Campo Dottore always maintains a marked minerality even in the driest years thanks to the large temperature range from which the vineyard benefits and to the copious amount of limestone in the soil.

Calatroni's Riesling Renano from Oltrepò Pavese Campo Dottore is bright straw yellow with golden reflections. The nose initially focuses on the fruit, with notes of peach, mango and medlar, then opens to memories of freesia, talc and rosemary, all wrapped in a delicate embrace of hydrocarbons. At the drink it is fresh and enveloping, savoury and rich. Excellent both with vitel tonnè and with cod and artichokes.
