The Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Isonzo I fiori del Borgo by Borgo Conventi is produced from vineyards on the right bank of the river Isonzo, spread on mostly flatland, whose plants vary in age between 10 and 13 years and rest on mixed clay and structured soils. Fermentation and maceration are carried out in stainless steel at a controlled temperature (temperature control is used to ensure that fermentation develops slowly and continuously and that there are no fermentation blocks, with the death of the wine yeasts and the possible triggering of fermentations of other unsuitable fungi or bacteria). The wine then rests, again in stainless steel vats, until the following spring, when it is bottled.

The Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso I Fiori del Borgo di Borgo Conventi is presented in the glass with an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections. On the nose, it has the classic notes of blackberry, violet and plum jam, with hints of herbs and liquorice. On the palate, it is lively and fresh, with a certain typical severity and tannins, balanced by flavour and fruit. Refosco wines recall paired dishes of structure, aroma and fatness, for example, to stay in the region, roast goose or musèt and brovade (cotechino and turnips macerated in the pomace).
