Corpo leggeroQuercioli Reggiano Secco is made for the dining table. This dry, lightly sparkling red from Medici Ermete celebrates the food traditions of Reggio Emilia through expressive fruit, a lively bead and a clean, refreshing finish. Unlike the sweet expression of Quercioli, this is a dry Reggiano Lambrusco DOC, best enjoyed for its youthful vibrancy.
The grapes are grown around Reggio Emilia in Emilia-Romagna. The blend combines Lambrusco Salamino and Lambrusco Marani, varieties associated with the area’s historic Lambrusco production. The producer describes clay soils, spur-pruned cordon training and a maximum grape yield of 14,000 kg per hectare. The wine is released without a vintage designation (NV).
Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, creating a naturally lively, dry, lightly sparkling red wine. At 11% alcohol by volume, it combines a fine, generous froth with bright acidity. The winery reports 14 g/l residual sugar, approximately 7.5 g/l total acidity and 0.35 g/l volatile acidity. The winery also reports 290 kJ / 69 kcal per 100 ml. The 750 ml bottle has a mushroom-style closure.
Its colour is bright ruby red. Pleasant, lasting aromas suggest violet and red fruit, while the palate is dry, fruity, fresh and pleasantly lively. The fine froth makes the wine particularly at home with rich and savoury food.
Try it with cured meats, cappelletti, herb-filled tortelli, lasagne with meat ragù, roast dishes or grilled meats. It also works well with burgers and hearty vegetarian bean dishes. Medici Ermete recommends serving this specific Quercioli Secco at 14–15°C and drinking it young, ideally within one to two years. Contains sulphites.
