The Pinot Nero Boschetto Rosso di Castello di Solicchiata is a red wine made from 100% Pinot Nero grapes originating from the Boschetto cru and cultivated as Greek bush-trained vines. The vineyard, arranged in terraces according to the ancient project of Felice Spitalieri from Muglia, is located on the southwest slopes of Mount Etna at an altitude ranging from 1000 to 1200 meters above sea level. In the winery, the red winemaking process with maceration of the must on the skins took place in truncated cone-shaped oak vats. The aging occurred for 24 months in barrels from Alliers and Troncais, and for an additional 36 months in the bottle.
PINOT NERO BOSCHETTO ROSSO CASTELLO DI SOLICCHIATA: THE TASTING
The Pinot Nero Boschetto Rosso di Castello di Solicchiata presents itself with a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it expresses aromas of ripe small red fruits intertwined with hints of balsamic herbs, undergrowth, and dark spices. On the palate, it is soft and balanced, supported by silky tannins and layered minerality that lingers in a balsamic and spicy finish. It pairs well with cheeses and rich earth-based dishes, especially those made with red meats and/or game.Product specifications
