The Pinot Grigio Mongris di Marco Fellluga is obtained from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes grown in the area of the municipalities of San Floriano, Farra d'Isonzo, and Cormòns, in the province of Gorizia. The original vineyards are rooted in soils characterized by the so-called "ponca", an alternation of marl and sandstone of Eocene origin that gives the wine a profound minerality. After manual harvesting, the bunches were transported to the cellar for vinification, which included a brief cold pre-maceration and a phase of alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel. The aging process involved 6 months in stainless steel in contact with the lees and some months in the bottle.
The Marco Felluga Pinot Grigio Collio Mongris presents itself with a straw-yellow color with coppery reflections. On the nose, notes of yellow pulp fruit, broom, and acacia flowers dominate, followed by timid hints of aromatic herbs and flint. On the palate, it is fresh and full-bodied, supported by an elegant minerality that persists in the finish. It pairs well with vegetarian dishes as well as exquisite seafood recipes at the table.
