Filosofia Naturale
Corpo medioNebbiolo delle Langhe di Giacomo Fenocchio has the temperament and finesse of this producer's other great wines. Made with grapes harvested from across 2 hectares, the vineyard is situated in a hilly area that faces east, at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level; the Helvetian soil is a mixture of clay sediments, blue marlstone, and tuff. The average age of the plants is around 15 years. The grapes are harvested in mid-October and are then processed traditionally; the grapes are fermented in contact with the skins, without added yeasts, for about 10 days in stainless steel tanks. The refinement lasts for six months in stainless steel tanks, six months in large Slavonian oak barrels and finally in the bottle.
Nebbiolo delle Langhe Giacomo Fenocchio has a deep ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose has intensely fruity notes of plum and cherry, with brushstrokes of rose petal, balsamic, and hints of forest floor. In the mouth it is dry and well-bodied, with fresh, nicely balanced tannins. This wine has a nice persistence; each sip refreshes the palate with hints of licorice. Absolutely delicious with cured meats and semi-mature cheeses such as Crespone from Piedmont or toma d'alpeggio.
