Müller Thurgau Feldmarschall Von Fenner by Tiefenbrunner is the Müller Thurgau, wine that fully redeems this vine, which is too often underestimated. The 3 hectares at 1000 metres on Mount Favogna make up the highest Müller vineyard in Europe. The intense red colour of the earth is given by a heterogeneous morainic rock of glacial origin, in the intermediate layers the sand with silt and clay prevails, dotted with white marble and numerous erratic boulders of porphyry and granite; in the deeper layers, there are dolomite and limestone. The arrangement of the vineyard and the strong temperature range require 2 to 4 harvesting passages. After a short maceration and light pressing, half of the must is fermented in large wooden barrels, half in steel fermenters, without adding selected yeasts. Once assembled, the wine ages 6 months in the bottle before being placed on the market.

MÜLLER THURGAU FELDMARSCHALL VON FENNER TIEFENBRUNNER: TASTING

Tiefenbrunner's Feldmarschall is pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose is intense with notes of ginger, mountain herbs, fern and sorrel and, again, lemon and white peach cream, all wrapped in a smoky mineral embrace. In the mouth, it is very fresh and savoury, with a long, balsamic and thirst-quenching finish. Perfect with cannellini, cod and wild garlic soup.
