The Montesodi Toscana Rosso IGT 2016 by Frescobaldi is born from Sangiovese grapes grown on the famous estate of Castello di Nipozzano east of Florence. The exclusive vineyard of origin has the name of Montesodi and is situated on an arid and stony soil with clayey and calcareous components, well-drained, at an average altitude of 400 metres above sea level. Ageing was 18 months in 30 hl Austrian and French oak barrels followed by a further 6 months in the bottle. The Montesodi Toscana Rosso by Frescobaldi was born with the harvest of 1974 and since then it has been produced only on the occasion of the best vintages.

Frescobaldi's Montesodi Toscana Rosso IGT captivates the eye with its ruby red colour with garnet reflections. Hints of ripe red fruit, coffee and dark spices and delicate notes of aromatic herbs make up an intense and seductive olfactory picture. Soft and full-bodied, when tasted it expresses a smooth tannin and an elegant balance between freshness and minerality. At the table, it goes well with cured meats and aged cheeses and succulent land dishes based on red meats and game.
